The 500X broke cover at the Paris Motor Show in October 2014 and reached UK showrooms the following year, built at Fiat's Melfi plant in Italy on the "Small Wide 4x4" platform it shares with the Jeep Renegade - two very different-looking cars underneath the same bones. It's effectively the 500's retro city-car styling stretched over a proper five-door family crossover, an unusual pairing of Italian design language and Jeep-derived engineering.

A 2019 update brought a new grille, revised LED lights, a fresh interior and a switch to smaller turbocharged petrol engines, but every account of that refresh describes it as a fascia, lighting and cabin change rather than anything to the doors or body shell. That means this pattern is cut once for the 500X's window openings and applies whether your car is a pre- or post-2019 example.

Fiat sold the 500X in two distinct looks - City Look models with body-coloured bumpers for a smarter, road-focused finish, and chunkier Cross and Cross Plus trims with skid-plate styling and available all-wheel drive for a more rugged stance.
